RAM Welcomes the Next Generation of Leadership
Every great company has a story, and at RAM, ours has always been about more than buildings. It’s about family, hard work, strong relationships, and creating something that lasts.
Since 1999, Gregg Machemehl and Rollie Radtke have built RAM Buildings from the ground up, growing it from a small operation into one of Minnesota’s leading post frame construction companies. Along the way, they’ve built more than barns, shops, arenas, and commercial buildings; they’ve built a culture that values people first and takes pride in every project.
That Story is Entering an Exciting New Chapter
On January 1, 2026, Nick Machemehl and Spencer Radtke officially became partners in RAM Buildings, taking the first major step in leading the company into its second generation. While the titles may be new, the journey started years ago, long before sales meetings and project reviews.
As kids, Nick and Spencer spent their summers around RAM, doing whatever needed to be done. They worked in the lumber yard, spent time on job sites, helped in the office, and learned firsthand what it takes to build a successful company. Being raised around the business gave them a glimpse of what it took to build RAM, but working in it every day has taught them just how much they still had to learn. They are deeply appreciative of the entire RAM family, whose experience, encouragement, and commitment to helping them succeed have made all the difference.
Fortunately, they embraced the challenge.
Both brought valuable experience from outside careers before returning to RAM. Those experiences, combined with years spent growing within the company, prepared them for the opportunity to help lead the business they grew up around.
And while they’re now business partners, Nick and Spencer have been friends for much longer. Their different personalities and strengths complement one another, creating a partnership built on trust, teamwork, and plenty of healthy debate along the way.
The goal isn’t to reinvent RAM

Quite the opposite. The focus is on preserving everything customers and employees love about the company while continuing to improve, innovate, and grow. That means investing in technology, improving processes, and finding new ways to serve customers all while keeping the family atmosphere that has defined RAM for nearly three decades.
Today, RAM employs more than 60 dedicated team members and provides turnkey construction services through RAM Buildings and RAM General Contracting. From agricultural buildings and equestrian facilities to commercial projects, residential post-frame homes, and restoration work, the company continues to evolve while staying true to its roots.
Of course, anyone wondering if Gregg and Rollie are riding off into retirement anytime soon shouldn’t worry. Their experience and guidance will continue to be an important part of RAM for years to come.
With Spencer and Nick joining the ownership team, the company is uniquely positioned to combine that proven leadership with the next generation’s ideas and long-term vision. This blend of experience and fresh perspective allows RAM to continue honoring the values that have earned customers’ trust for decades while embracing new opportunities to improve processes, strengthen relationships, and better serve employees and customers alike. It’s a partnership that ensures RAM remains rooted in its history while continuing to evolve for the future.
And if the first 27 years are any indication, the best chapters of the RAM story are still ahead.
