Carpentry Training In Motion
RAM Buildings has been working in cooperation with American Workshop to get a carpentry training program under way. We are proud to say we have our first RAM graduate, Dallas Eastman. He has been working in the field since July of 2015.
Working outdoors was a personal deciding factor for him. He knew he was unhappy with what he was doing so he decided to try something different and give carpentry a try.
The curriculum put together by American Workshop gave Dallas the opportunity to learn all the basics of construction. It enabled him with the skills and self-confidence to go on the job site and succeed. The course gives the students an overview of construction as a whole. It also gives them a place to learn hands on how to use tools, read blue prints, and certifies them in a number of safety related areas.
Dallas thoroughly enjoyed the training program. He was impressed with the amount of knowledge the instructors have. They all have years of experience in the construction field and a willingness to teach others what they have learned. If a student has difficulty with something the instructors are more than happy to help. It is a great learning environment.
After having worked on the job for a few months now Dallas feels he has learned a considerable amount more. He is thankful to have had the opportunity to do some hands-on training prior to going into the field. His days go by quickly. Each day brings new opportunity for him to learn and grow as a craftsman.
