An investment into the next generation of post frame carpenters
Our industry is in demand of new talent and RAM is making an investment of time and resources into individuals who are coming out of high school and considering starting a career in the construction trades without a college degree.
RAM is putting together our own three-week Carpentry Training Program that we will offer to individuals who want to explore a career in construction. The program will offer both classroom and hands on learning opportunities. The curriculum will include modules on Basics Employment Skills, First Aid & Safety, Power & Hand Tools, Measuring & Calculating, Materials & Fasteners, Stick Framing, an emphasis on Post Frame Construction, and touch on other trades such as Masonry, Electrician, Plumbing & HVAC, and Excavation. We will also communicate basic career preparation skills.
This program will give the students a unique opportunity to explore a career in this field while learning basic skills that they will be able to apply throughout their lives. We expect to hire those interested in a career with us upon completion of the course.
To date we have students from Lester Prairie, Hutchinson and Bird Island signed up for our June 2019 Course and we are seeking more students to join. We have met with students from Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, Wright Technical School in Buffalo, Dassel-Cokato, Hutchinson, Howard Lake, Holy Trinity in Winsted, Mayer Lutheran School, Lester Prairie, Watertown-Mayer, and Delano. We are seeking more students to present the opportunity to so if you know of a group that may be interested please contact us.
If you are a student interested in this opportunity fill out the application on our website or call today.
